PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC RELATIONS – BATCH 7

1.0 Introduction  
The Centre for Foreign Relations (CFR) was established by 1978 Mozambique and Tanzania Agreement, incorporated in the Consular and Diplomatic Immunities and Privileges Act. No 5, 1986, and is one of the higher learning institutions in Tanzania. The Centre provides high quality and competitive training, research and consultancy services and short courses in the fields of conflict management, peace building, mediation, leadership, international relations and diplomacy, protocol and public relations, public administration, political and economic reforms, constitution and legal affairs, international trade and policy analysis. 
     
In fulfilling its mandates of being a “Think Tank” in the areas of its competences, the centre is running both long term and short term courses to meet the needs and desire of our clients in the specified fields. It is in this ground that, the institution is announcing a short course on the Protocol and Public relations. 
     
1.1 Justification and Rationale of the course
To manage Protocol and Public relation functions, there needs fundamental art, skills, knowledge and experience that will helps stakeholders/practitioners to handle their businesses with promising results, through the use of intelligent, tactful, constructive strategies. Accordingly, this training course seeks to build capacity and develop analytical tools, skills and experience to those engaged in Protocol and Public Relations.
      
1.2 Objectives 
This training course seeks to build capacity and develop analytical tools, skills and experience to all those engaged in various types of Protocol and Public Relation related activities, to enable them handle competitively and competently their daily activities and duties in their community and at their work places.

1.3 Targeted group 
This course is designed for mid-level officials from the government, Ministries officials, District officials, Personal Assistants to Executives and CEO’s, Administrative Secretaries, Immigration Officers, Airport Officers, Sales and Marketing Managers/personnel, Public Relation and Information Officers, Managers and Administrative Officers, Editors and Media Executives as well as Journalists who are engaged in State Visits and ceremonies  and all those engaged in the field of Protocol, diplomacy and Public relation, as well as those who wish to develop career and build their capacity in this discipline.  

1.4 Expected output
Participants will be equipped with tactics, fundamental art, skills, knowledge, analytical and skills of the management of Protocol, Diplomacy and Public Relations in working places and in the society at large.

  3. Diplomatic Etiquette
  4. Protocol,  State Visit and State Ceremony; and
  5. Practical Issues
  1. PUBLIC RELATIONS
  1. Public Relations and Its Concepts
  2. Agents/tactics of Public Relations
  3. Types of Public Relations; and 
  4. Writing and Communication Skills for Public Relations


DELIVERY/METHOD OF TRAINING
Duration: Five (5) days (full time, from 9.00hr – 15.45hrs)
Delivery: Lectures, discussions, case studies, video and simulations
Assessment: Non-examinable           
Award: Certificate of attendance 
                 
Fees: Tsh. 650,000/= only, which also covers, buffet lunch and Breakfast, Training Materials and stationeries, and T-shirts (Invitation letter will be sent upon request)
